One shoot day, a month of content: how we plan production with Creatives Square
Most brands leave a shoot with one video. Planned around the campaign, the same day can feed a month of ads, reels, product pages and posts. This is how we plan it.
A shoot day is expensive: a crew, a location, lights, a director and your team’s time. Most brands leave with one video and a few photos. Planned around the campaign instead, the same day can feed a full month of ads, reels, product pages and posts. This is how we plan production with our media partner, Creatives Square.
It starts before the camera
The shoot is planned backwards from the campaign. Before anyone books a location, Dark Media writes down what the month has to sell and where it will run:
- The offer and the one sentence a customer should remember.
- The audience and the doubts they have before they buy.
- The platforms and the formats each one needs: vertical for reels and stories, square for feeds, wide for the website and YouTube.
- A list of opening lines to test, because the first seconds of a video decide whether anyone watches the rest.
The shot list does the heavy lifting
Creatives Square turns that brief into a shot list, so every hour on set produces material with a clear job. A typical list covers:
- A short brand film for the website and YouTube.
- Several vertical takes of the same message, each with a different opening.
- Close-ups of the product in real hands, for retargeting and catalog ads.
- People: the team, the space, a customer if one agrees to appear.
- Clean product stills and lifestyle photos, shot between video takes.
- Behind-the-scenes footage for organic posts.
From one day to a month
This is an example of how one shoot day can be spread across a month. The real list depends on the product and the budget.
| From the shoot | Where it goes | Its job |
|---|---|---|
| Brand film | Website hero and YouTube | Trust and recall |
| Vertical videos with different openings | Meta and TikTok ads | Find the message that sells |
| Short product cuts | Retargeting | Bring back people who showed interest |
| Product stills | Store, catalog ads and product pages | Help the buyer decide |
| Team and space | About page and landing pages | Show the people behind the brand |
| Behind the scenes | Instagram and TikTok posts | Keep the account active between campaigns |
The first seconds decide the rest
On Meta and TikTok, people decide in a moment whether to keep watching. So instead of one opening, we shoot several: a question, a bold claim the product can back up, a close-up that makes people curious, a customer’s reaction. The ads test them against each other, and the winners tell us what to shoot more of next month.
Where AI video helps
Once the real footage exists, Creatives Square can extend it with AI: versions in another language, new backgrounds for a seasonal offer, or extra variations for testing. Real faces, real hands and the real product stay at the centre, because that is where trust comes from.
Measured by sales, not views
Every piece goes out with tracking. Dark Media reports each video and photo set by cost per lead, cost per sale and return on ad spend, so the next shoot day is planned around what actually sold.
