Phoenix ERP and Shopify real-time sync
A custom integration that keeps products, stock and orders in sync between a Phoenix ERP and a Shopify store, with no manual updates.
The challenge
The client managed stock in a Phoenix ERP and sold online through Shopify. Every change had to be copied by hand between the two systems. Stock numbers drifted apart, products sold out online while still showing as available, and the team spent hours every day reconciling orders.
What we built
We built a two-way sync service. Shopify webhooks push every new order to the service the moment it happens, the service validates and transforms it, and writes it into the ERP through its API. A scheduled job reads the ERP every five minutes and updates products and stock in Shopify.
- Webhook listeners for orders and product changes
- Validation and mapping between the two data models
- Conflict handling, retries and a failure queue, so no order is lost when an API is down
- A live monitoring view and detailed logs
The result
No more manual stock updates. Orders flow from Shopify into the ERP in real time, inventory matches across both systems, and failed calls are retried automatically instead of silently disappearing.
